Emurgo is looking for a COO for its new San Francisco office!
The COO will play a key role in developing Emurgo’s presence in the United. Dealing with HR, compliance, financial and administrative the COO of the Emurgo SF branch will be the first and main organizational support of our new branch.
Emurgo is the branch of Cardano (home to the Ada cryptocurrency and the Cardano digital platform) specialised in incubating and supporting commercial ventures that want to revolutionise their industries using blockchain technology; it helps integrate businesses into Cardano’s decentralized blockchain ecosystem.
Blockchain technology has transformed the way that organisations look at technology infrastructures. It has unlocked the ability for parties around the globe to agree on actions and events such as financial transactions, messaging, legal contracts, and authentication of goods without the need for a trusted central party, opening the door for all sorts of applications and commercial opportunities.
Emurgo is investment-focused and invests in two ways:
(1) through direct investments into start-up ventures
(2) by developing commercial partners that want to use blockchain technology to revolutionize their industries
Emurgo has established Research and Development centres in key locations such as South Korea, Vietnam, and has its headquarters in Japan and is establishing its new office in London and now in the United States!
HELP EMURGO DEVELOP ITS COMMUNITY
We are looking for a COO for our San Francisco office who will play a key role in helping Emurgo develop globally and achieve its goals dealing with HR, compliance, financial and administrative support of our new branch. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will lead all internal operations and will have the following responsibilities:
Drive the operational launch of the company in San Francisco
Working in partnership with the CEO and Head of Global Strategy, create the strategic plan and implement new processes and approaches to achieve it.
Develop and execute an integrated go-to-market plan for Emurgo in the US
Manage and direct company operations to meet budget and other financial goals. Deliver agreed performance within budget.
Develop, establish, and direct the execution of operating policies to support overall company objectives.
Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals.
Oversee all administrative functions, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Oversee contract negotiation and legal activities: client contracts, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and other legal documents.
Manage the daily performance of the operations team. Use good meeting and project planning practices to drive focus and results.
Manage individual performance by establishing annual operating objectives for each employee. Also establish annual development plan for each employee and provide ongoing coaching.
Oversee the human resource function, including:
Recruitment, hiring, onboarding and retention
Compensation and benefits administration
Professional training and development
Perform other job-related duties as required.
Essential skills or experience:
Experience with progressive general management responsibilities in a high-paced, rapid growth environment
Experience and success in preparing for and negotiating partnerships and investment relations
Business line management experience in launching new technology products, and scaling for growth and profitability
Expertise in defining and scaling operational processes, both internally and with external partners
Managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses the team and drives results
Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility
Curious for new technology
Knowledge of Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency
Language skills (Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese would be interesting)
