To support the business’s growth, the company is seeking a Head of Product. The Head of Product will be responsible for both existing and emerging products at AlphaPoint. As such, they will be critical to the continued success and future growth of the group. They will work extensively with a broad range of clients and other industry participants to understand the current and future needs of a wide range of existing and potential product users. In addition, they will lead the process by which the firm designs and develops products and takes ownership for managing the business lifecycle of those solutions.
The Head of Product will be at the heart of the growth strategy for the division. They will face externally into the market; partner with both existing and potential customers to identify and execute upon emerging opportunities. The Head of Product will also run a rigorous process of design, development and deployment when bringing new products to market. This individual will follow a formal product management methodology while balancing the need for speed to market and deploying minimum viable products at each stage of the formal release.
Key responsibilities for the head of Product will be:
- Understand the need of existing and target customers; translate those needs into high-level product requirements and provide direction to the product development team.
- Craft a product strategy to ensure that product lines are differentiated and meet the changing needs of our clients.
- Work closely with clients on product launches and strategy sessions. Build a rapport and considerable knowledge of their business operations.
- Build and manage a suite of product offerings that deliver superior value to clients’ business.
- Play a leadership role around product development, evolution and sunset decisions.
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of Blockchain, Digital Currencies, and Financial Exchanges and emerging trends. Present this knowledge in a clear and concise manner to a broad range of external and internal stakeholders.
- Drive an innovative and creative culture while remaining focused on the financial performance of the group.
- Partner with the sales team to develop the go to market strategy for products and to drive retention within the existing client-base.
Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad range of experience within the Financial Services marketplace, ideally spanning multiple functions and lines of business. Of critical importance they will demonstrate detailed knowledge of how Blockchain and digital currencies are being used across the industry and trends that are transforming this marketplace.
- Broad knowledge of the Financial Services industry having ideally held a variety of roles within a major Exchange, Banking, Asset Management or Hedge Fund institution.
- Exceptional knowledge of the Blockchain and digital currency industries and the usage of such technology within the financial marketplace.
- Track record of bringing new, innovative and profitable products to market.
- Experience of working across numerous functional domains including engineering, sales, marketing and operations over the product lifecycle to maximize return on investment for individual and product families.
- A structured approach to managing the process of product creation; from understanding client requirements, to designing capabilities and manufacturing solutions.
- Track record of partnering with clients across a broad spectrum of product offerings.
- Proven commercial skills and sound judgment; constantly focuses on driving profitability.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to attract, retain and develop top industry talent.
